Another Round of Black and White
I love black and white!! A revelation discovered while setting up to blog items from The Challenge - Black and White Theme. Not one alone but a happy mingling of both. Without a doubt the right backdrop has to be chosen in order to get the "wow factor" as opposed to the "wash out". ChiC Building offered up Gothic Building this round (details in previous posting); it in conjunction with a few other goodies make up the 'wow factor'. In case you missed it, Black and White is the theme for July Challenge for Builders.
[bauwerk] put together a whole slew of white for you to pick and choose from. It is not a set but individual pieces that work beautifully together. The Chesterfield sofa is leather and pairs perfectly with the Leather Stool. Each have great animations for singles while the sofa has couples as well. The land impact is very low at 11 for both items. The floor lamp works on touch and is only two prim as well. The Monochrome Couch Table with all the decor is really great will the same attention to detail that is present in the other pieces available. In keeping things low prim, the couch table definitely fits the bill. It is only 2 LI with all the books and magazines. You can't beat that with a stick!
In addition to the items from [bauwerk] I have added "A Mess Of A Chair" from Kuro to the sitting area. On one hand, it complements the leather very well. On the other hand, the iron frame adds a splash of black to the sitting room. There are 21 high quality animations to flip and flop through. Again for the prim stingy or prim conscious folks out there, it has a low land impact of 2.
A lovely area rug "Circuit Light" from {hate this} is used to absorb some of the cold from the stone floor. It also brings the entire setting together into more of a comfy room than a bunch of furniture situated inside a big room.
Complete sets is what I prefer because it's just easier than to mix and match. I've found that my philosophy used when buying clothes doesn't alway cross over well into furnishing my home. In suites - bedroom, living room, dining room etc - there is typically a piece that I don't like or just simply won't use. Solution? Hit the stores when there are awesome events going on like The Challenge. Get what you want, not what you don't. So what are you waiting for? The Challenge for Builders - Black & White will be coming to an end very soon. All merchants who have their items out at a discounted price now may not have it at that price after the sale ends.
